When the powder (polymer) is combined with acrylic liquid (monomer) it forms a smooth, workable mass that lets you build and extend nails on a form or a tip without a lamp. Nails made with the acrylic method offer outstanding adhesion and durability, and stand up well to cracking and chipping. The material is easy to work back with both a hand file and an e-file. Acrylic powder also earns its place elsewhere in the styling routine. Worked between layers, it makes every kind of ombre far simpler. Dusted over gel polish it deepens the colour, and raised details painted in gel polish set into a three-dimensional finish for sweater nails. A dusting of acrylic powder is also the way to a matte, sugar-effect finish.
